    National Cadets Corps

    A Unit of Senior Division NCC (infantry) has been attached to the college since 1967 onwards. Also, a new platoon for girls of this college was started in 2004. Admission is open to all able bodied students. Attendance for parade is compulsory. Cadets who do not put in the minimum required number of days of attendance for parades will not be allowed to appear for the NCC certificate examinations.

    National Service Scheme

    Two National Service Scheme (NSS) units of 100 Volunteers each function in the college. The aim of National Service Scheme is to foster national awareness and social responsibility among the students and to help them in the implementation of service projects to benifit the people in the surrounding areas. Adoption of villages, environmental education and preservation projects, and other social service projects etc. are some of the activities of the scheme.

    Career Guidance Cell

    A Career Guidance Cell is functioning in the college which helps the students in getting information regarding various institution and admission procedures for higher studies as well as various job opportunities.

    Counselling Facility

    Personal counselling is made available to students on demand.

    Additional Skills Acquisition Programme

    Additional Skills Acquisition Programme (ASAP) is a joint initiative of the departments of General Education and Higher Education, Government of Kerala to ensure well-trained work force in different sectors of the economy by providing additional skill sets to students along with their regular courses. The one-year ASAP Level-1 programme is a combination of three courses, namely Communication Skills in English, Basics of IT, and an elective Skill Course. The programmes are developed, delivered, assessed and certified with the active participation of the related industries to ensure labour market acceptance of the participants. A maximum of 35 students from any of the first year degree courses can join this programme every year.

    Walk with a Scholar Scheme

    Walk With a Scholar (WWS) scheme, part of the ‘New Initiatives in Higher Education’ initiated by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Kerala, proposes to arrange specialized mentoring programs for students in UG programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce and to provide guidance for their future. The scheme introduces the idea of mentoring and builds on the concept of mentor as a ‘Guide’ and ‘Friend’. Every year 30 highly talented students are selected as the beneficiaries of the scheme.

    Scholar Support Programme (SSP), part of the ‘New Initiatives in Higher Education’ initiated by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Kerala, aims at imparting additional support to students in curricular areas of weakness. Every year 30 students are selected as the beneficiaries of the scheme.
